HOMEBUILDING AGAIN PACES MONTHLY BUILDING PERMITS FOR MAY

  

New home construction continues its steady pace in Brenham, as evidenced by another solid month of building permits.

Twenty-two homes were permitted by the city in May for $4,072,560.  The single largest permit of the month was issued to Thielemann Construction for $674,687 for a new home in the 2400 block of Oak Hollow Lane.

So far this year, the city has permitted 97 new homes for $18,945,079.  New home permits now outpace the total from this time last year, which was 83 permits for $12,861,671.

Other notable permits issued last month included a $422,000 permit taken out by NCCD – Blinn College Properties for interior remodeling of Mill Creek Hall for Blinn’s esports program.  The city also issued a $340,000 permit to MAS Restaurant Group for interior remodeling of Taco Bell and a $323,730 permit to High Hope Care Center to replace the roof.

In total, 47 permits were issued in May for $6,252,733, compared to 28 permits in May 2021 for $5,423,687.

Through 2022 to date, the city has issued 198 permits for $29,139,702.  At this point a year ago, 176 permits had been issued for $23,966,859.
