HUNDREDS GATHER IN DOWNTOWN FOR SUMMER SIP AND ART WALK

Hundreds of residents and visitors had the chance to shop the stores in downtown Brenham this past Saturday as part of Main Street Brenham’s annual Summer Sip and Art Walk.
Local merchants provided customers a chance to try signature summer beverages like sangrias, margaritas, an island breeze, some hurricane punch, or a mojito, while viewing artwork from several local merchants.

According to City of Brenham Tourism and Marketing Coordinator Nancy Joiner, they sold 450 of the 600 tickets that they had made available for the event. That is compared to last year, where they printed 300 tickets and sold out.
Attendees were allowed to bring their tickets to the Courthouse Gazebo in exchange for a special Summer Sip wine glass.
Joiner said they estimated the crowd size at 310 people. She said that they felt the hotter temperatures played a factor in some folks staying home.
Main Street Brenham had a total of 39 businesses participate in the Summer Sip and Art Walk. Joiner said that there were some varying degrees of success.
Main Street Brenham thanks their sponsors, who helped make the event possible. Those sponsors include: Deep in the Heart Farms, Hermann Furniture, Altman-Dentistry-Dr. Michael Altman and Dr. Rob Knowles, Appel Ford, Coldwell Banker Lindi/Cameron Team and Brandi Conway, Euphoria, and Las Americas Latin Cuisine.
