Brenham Main Street has named its new manager.

Monique Breaux will take over the day-to-day operations and primary operational responsibilities for the Main Street program, now overseen by Brenham | Washington County Economic Development.

Breaux joined the City of Brenham in the spring of 2021 as an executive assistant in the city manager’s office, where she has worked with all city departments and elected officials.  She is also a 2022 graduate of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Washington County program.

Breaux previously worked for 11 years with the City of Marble Falls in Parks and Recreation and Public Works, where she managed major events such as the July Fourth Celebration, Merry Texmas Ice Skating, and the Walkway of Lights.  She was also the department liaison to volunteers, schools and organizations, engaging participation in and support for city programming.  Her project management experience included strategic marketing programs, grant management, and other special project initiatives.

Breaux holds a degree in Mass Communication – Journalism and spent seven years of her career working in the communications and entertainment industry.  She also holds a Masters of Public Administration degree.
