BELLVILLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HOST PROGRAM ON EXODUS OF CONFEDERATE FAMILIES TO BRAZIL
The Bellville Historical Society will host its monthly program on Sunday, with this month’s topic being the Confederacy and its connection to Brazil.
Bronwyn Bowen will speak about how thousands of Southerners and Confederate families fled the United States and traveled to Brazil after the Civil War to avoid Yankee rule.
The program will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Bellville Historical Society building at 15 North Masonic Street.
The event is free to attend.
