KIDS GONE FISHIN’ SATURDAY AT BLUE BELL AQUATIC CENTER
Hundreds of pounds of catfish will be dumped into the Blue Bell Aquatic Center’s outdoor leisure pool on Saturday for young anglers to reel in.
The 16th Annual Kids Gone Fishin’ is a free event that promotes fishing, the great outdoors and spending time with family and the community.
Aquatic Superintendent Tammy Jaster says this is a fishing experience is unlike anything else around the area.
The day starts with registration at 8:30 a.m., followed by catch and release from 9 to 11 a.m. and catch and keep from 11 a.m. to noon. Awards will be presented afterwards to the top catchers for ages 6 and under, 7-11 and 12-17.
Along with the fishing, families can enjoy free swimming in the indoor pool with inflatables, arts and crafts, and face painting. Several groups like the Brenham Police and Fire Departments, Washington County EMS, and the Brenham Elks Lodge will visit and offer presentations.
Fishing poles and concessions will be provided, but guests can also bring their own equipment and snacks.
