TWO ARRESTED BY BRENHAM POLICE SUNDAY NIGHT

  

A traffic stop late Sunday night in Brenham resulted in the arrest of two Austin-area women.

Just past 11 p.m., Officer Bryan Morong stopped a vehicle in the 2800 block of Highway 36 South for an equipment violation.

Officer Morong reported immediately smelling the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle as he made contact with the driver, 44-year-old Wendy Waggoner of Round Rock, who showed to have an invalid driver’s license.

Contact was also made with the passenger, 26-year-old Devon Branch of Pflugerville, who admitted to having marijuana, which she retrieved.  A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed additional marijuana, which Branch advised was hers as well.

Branch was charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz, while Waggoner was charged with Driving While License Invalid Enhanced.  They were both taken to the Washington County Jail, where they were booked in and released to jail staff.
