BRENHAM MAIN STREET MANAGER POSITION OPEN

The City of Brenham is interviewing for a new Manager of its Main Street Program.

Monique Breaux, who last July slid over from being Executive Assistant to the City Manager Office into the Main Street Manager role, resigned last month following the Christmas Stroll event.  Breaux’s last day with the City of Brenham was December 19th. So far, the City has received eight applications for the position, and is in the process of conducting interviews.

In other news from this month’s Main Street Board meeting, Doug Peck is the new Chairman and Pete Simpson is serving as Vice Chairman.  The Board welcomed newly appointed members Celia Baker-Haley, Coleen Broussard, Dax Flisowski and Andi Liner.  They are replacing outgoing Board members Jon Hill, Margie Young, and Melinda Faubion.

  1. I hope they hire someone motivated and ready to start working for the businesses downtown.

    1. Motivated? She was the 4th Main Street Manager/Coordinator in the last 4-5 years. Maybe you should ask what’s REALLY going on within this department instead of questioning her motivation. Did you ever volunteer to help with any of this downtown events? Did you show up to any Main Street Board meetings? She was a department of ONE doing the best she could; and worked 6 days a week to stay ahead of the curve. She was wonderful to work with and brought a breath of fresh air to the city. She’ll be missed! Motivated, tuh!
