WCSO: MAN DEAD AFTER BEING STRUCK BY FALLEN TREE

  

A man is dead after he was struck by a fallen tree at his home north of Carmine.

According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak, deputies responded around 7:45 p.m. Saturday to a call in the 11000 block of Young Circle.  Hanak said a woman called after arriving home to find her unresponsive spouse under a tree he had been cutting down.

Washington County EMS came to the scene and determined the individual, identified as 43-year-old William Berry, was deceased.  Investigation indicated Berry died after being accidentally struck by the large tree he was removing.

Hanak said no further information is available.
