SPRING OPEN COLLECTION DAYS UNDERWAY THURSDAY FOR CITY OF BRENHAM RESIDENTS

The annual Spring Open Collection Days for City of Brenham residents start tomorrow (Thursday) at the BVR Collection Station.

Households that are in the city will be able to drop off up to 500 pounds of non-hazardous waste for free at the collection station, located at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Road, from tomorrow through Saturday.  The collection event for Washington County residents takes place next week, March 9-11.

Proof of residence and an ID must be provided by participants.  Only non-commercial customers can take part.

Items disposed over the 500 pound limit will be charged at the full rate.

Items that will not be accepted include propane tanks, hazardous materials, and loads with dirt, cement or bricks.  Appliances with coolant will be assessed a $20 removal fee before drop-off.  Tires will be taken at the normal rate.

Hours for the collection station during the event are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow and Friday, and 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
