BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO REVIEW PERSONNEL CONTRACTS

Several administrative and personnel contracts will be brought to the Burton School Board for consideration on Monday.

Among the contracts to be reviewed are for the elementary and high school principals, assistant principal, athletic director, counselor, instructional coach and teachers.

The contracts will serve as the majority of actionable items for the board, as the remainder of the meeting involves the consent agenda, staff reports and an update on the bond project.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Burton High School auditorium.

For audio access, dial 1-346-248-7799 and use meeting ID 933 1560 1219 and passcode 588606.

  1. Please consider adding a second counselor to the staff. With the rise in mental health illness the need is definitely warranted.
We need a counselor. Not a “test coordinator”… a person to come in the classrooms for mini lessons. Speaking to students.

Have you ever thought about having Mr. Daniel Gaskamp come to the elementary classroom regular to speak to the students? He is versed in teaching mini lessons to students on a variety of life skill issues.
You have many excellent teachers and aides. I am afraid that Burton ISD will lose many of those teachers/aides because of the low salary. Please consider giving all staff members a raise. They are working long hours to make sure all students are served. I feel staff moral is low right now. Stress isn’t worth it.
I have had the opportunity to sit down with both Burton ISD principals. It seems to me that these two ladies are suited for the other principal position. Mrs. M Fuchs seems like a secondary principal. Mrs. Goebel for the elementary level.
Bless you for serving on the school board. A really tough job with no paid. Thank you.
