MS 150 TO TRAVEL THROUGH AREA THIS WEEKEND
The Texas MS 150 will bring thousands of bicyclists through the area this weekend.
The two-day fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will have riders traveling from the Houston or Austin region into La Grange on Saturday, then through Round Top or Carmine, Burton, and by Lake Somerville before finishing at Kyle Field in College Station on Sunday.
Starting points on the Houston route include Addicks Park & Ride in Houston’s Energy Corridor, the Royal school complex in Brookshire and the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville. The Austin route has starts at the Capitol and Webberville Park in Webberville. Both routes will converge Saturday afternoon at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange.
On Sunday, riders will go through either Round Top or Carmine and pass through Burton. This year’s route also has the option of starting in Burton after taking a shuttle.
From there, the route will continue north, going through Somerville and Snook before arriving at Kyle Field.
Residents should be mindful of bicyclists this weekend and prepare for possible delays.
