LAKE BELTON 3 BRENHAM 0

The series opened on Friday night. Della Jasinski and Shelby Schultz were locked in a pitcher's duel. Play was suspended in the middle of the sixth inning after bad weather went through the Caldwell area on Friday night.

The game resumed this morning with Lady Bronco Shortstop Casey Schultz hitting a three run homer off of Jasinski in the top of the seventh inning, which turned out to be the game winner.

Jasinski took the tough luck loss allowing three earned runs over seven innings, five hits, five walks, and struck out twelve.

The Cubette offense managed just three hits, one walk, and struck out 17 times against Schultz.

BRENHAM 3 LAKE BELTON 0

Halle Scheel (Mark Whitehead)

The Cubettes came back to shutout Lake Belton with a 3-0 in game two. Avery Maurer reached on a walk. That was followed by Halle Scheel reaching ball that was dropped by the leftfielder, that put runners on the corners. Kaylyn Rodriguez hit and RBI groundout to second base that scored Maurer to make it 1-0 Brenham. Annie Beckendorf beat out a squeeze bunt that allowed Scheel to score to make it 2-0 Cubettes.

Brenham got one more insurance run in the top of the seventh inning. Kaylie Rodriguez drew a one out walk, and Nevaeh Holmes came in to run for her. Stella Landry hit an RBI triple into right field that scored Holmes to make it 3-0.

Jasinski went the distance to get the win. She pitched seven innings allowing three hits and three walks, while striking out five.

Next up, the series returns to Caldwell on Monday night for Game Three. First pitch is at 6:30pm, 6pm pregame right here on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
