UNITY THEATRE TO PRESENT ‘GODSPELL’ JUNE 8-25
A classic musical will be Unity Theatre’s fourth and final Main Stage production of the season.
“Godspell”, a retelling of the Gospel of Matthew through various musical parables, will play at Unity Theatre June 8-25.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by John-Michael Tebelak, “Godspell” tells the different parables by using a variety of games, storytelling techniques and doses of comedy to share messages of kindness, tolerance and love.
A cast of 10 characters includes Jesus, John the Baptist, Judas, the disciples, the Pharisees and others from the New Testament.
A chat with the show cast will be held following the preview performance on June 8th. Guests will be able to meet director Andrew Ruthven prior to the show on June 17th.
Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. on Sundays.
Ticket reservations for Unity Theatre Circle Members start on Monday. Subscriber sales begin on May 22nd, and sales to the public open on May 30th.
