WASHINGTON CO. APPOINTS NEW EXTENSION AGENTS
The Washington County Extension Service is getting new agents.
At today’s (Tuesday) Washington County Commissioners meeting, the court approved the appointment of Pearl Jones as the new 4-H Agent and Stephanie Rudolph to the role of Family and Community Health Agent.

Jones comes to Washington County from Dallas County, Iowa, where she currently serves as a 4-H Agent for the Iowa Extension Service. She is a graduate of West Texas A&M in Canyon. She fills the position previously held by Allyson James and will start on June 1st.
Rudolph has been a Washington County employee for the past nine years, most recently as the office manager for the Extension Office. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and is working on attaining her master’s. Prior to Rudolph, the position belonged to Hannah Krebs.
Also today, commissioners agreed to issue requests for qualifications (RFQ) for design work for the Washington County Jail kitchen, through the American Rescue Plan. RFQs will be due to the county by June 9 at 9 a.m.
In other action, the court:
- Proclaimed May 22-26 as Flood Awareness Week in Washington County.
- Approved the purchase of a used golf cart for the Washington County Expo using $6,495 in Hotel Occupancy Tax funds. Expo Director Harrison Williams said the purchase was budgeted in 2022, and that new golf carts are going for around $12,000.
- Approved a position description for office manager of the Extension Office.
- Authorized the county engineer’s office to advertise for bids for an alternate bulk aviation fuel supplier. Bids will be opened on June 2 at 10 a.m. and will be awarded on June 6.
- Accepted Farm House Lane, which is 0.397 miles located in the Farm Houses of Pleasant Hill subdivision in Precinct 2, into the county road system.
- Declared a set of homemade angle iron and pipe bleachers at the Washington County Expo as salvage property.
- Approved a contract for representation of indigent defendants.
- Approved 60-day extensions of time to use vacation hours for London Crawford with the Washington County Jail and Matthew Presswood with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
- Approved oil and gas development permits for Magnolia Oil & Gas LLC at 3000 Lomax Harmel Road and 15400 Sandtown Road in Carmine in Precinct 4.
- Discussed a formal notice for a temporary 12-inch lay flat water transfer line within the right of way of Upshaw Road, Homeyer Mountain Road, Willie Hinze Road and Lomax Harmel Road in Precinct 4.
