ONE CRITICALLY INJURED AFTER FALLING FROM NAVASOTA RIVER BRIDGE FOLLOWING ACCIDENT

  

Update @ 10:45 a.m.: A Plano woman was flown to a hospital with serious injuries after falling from a bridge following an accident Sunday night west of Navasota.

DPS reports the one-vehicle accident occurred around 8:45 p.m. on the Navasota River bridge on Highway 105.

According to DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz, a 2015 Jeep Renegade was traveling westbound when it drifted to the right and struck the guardrail.  The SUV then went across the highway and hit the guardrail on the opposite side.

Sgt. Ruiz reported the accident was observed by Washington County EMS.  As EMS approached the vehicle, they saw the driver, who was disoriented from the crash, climb out of the driver side window and fall from the bridge.

24-year-old Sabrina Burton was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.

The accident scene was cleared just after 9:45 p.m.
