WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS STANPAC TAX PHASE-IN

The Washington County Commissioners Court will discuss a resolution adopting a commercial tax phase-in agreement with Stanpac USA during their next meeting on Tuesday.

Stanpac already received approval from the Brenham City Council at their June 15 meeting.

The agreement with Stanpac allows the company to receive tax phase-in incentives for eligible property improvements and job creation as it purchases new equipment to expand its line of products.

Stanpac currently has 249 employees at its Brenham location at 801 Mangrum Street.  The company anticipates adding more employees and doubling sales to $12 million within a few years.  The total capital investment for the expansion project is $5.5 million.

Other items on the Commissioners Court agenda include:

The appointment of Brenham Mayor Atwood Kenjura to the Brazos Valley Council of Governments Board of Directors

A request for qualifications for the Washington County Courthouse Landscape Project.

The Commissioners Court will also have a workshop to discuss the jail generator and the Hotel Occupancy Tax Board ILA.

The Washington County Commissioners Court meeting Tuesday at 9am in their chambers at the Washington County Courthouse.
