GIDDINGS CHAMBER ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY AWARD RECIPIENTS
The Giddings Chamber of Commerce has announced the recipients of the 2023 Community Awards as it prepares to hold its annual banquet.
Each year, the Chamber recognizes individuals and businesses for their efforts and contributions to the Lee County community.
Honorees include:
- Outstanding Youth Organization of the Year – Lee County Little League
- Outstanding Civic Organization of the Year – City of Giddings ~ Parks and Recreation
- Outstanding Business of the Year – Liquor Depot
- Customer Service Award – Dr. Amy Jatzlau
- Community Service Award – Lee County Buyers Groups – Lee County Junior Livestock Show
- Hometown Hero – Carlie Weiser
- Humanitarian Award – Ryan Marshall
- Lifetime Achievement Award – Judge Paul Fischer
- Outstanding Citizen of the Year – Nick Hinze
- Legacy Award – Joyce Bise
The banquet will be held on Tuesday, August 8th at The Silos on 77. A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a catered meal from Jake’s BBQ and the awards ceremony.
The theme is “To Boldly Go – Into the Next Century” with Star Trek as the backdrop; Star Trek attire or costumes are encouraged, with business casual being appropriate otherwise.
