SOUNDS OF SUMMER, MOVIES IN THE PARK FRIDAY IN NAVASOTA

Navasota will have plenty of summer fun this (Friday) evening.

The city’s second concert in the Sounds of Summer series will host the Brown Sugar Band, with its popular blend of Motown, R&B and rock ‘n roll.  The music begins at 7 p.m. on the grounds of Navasota City Hall.

The concert is free to attend, and there will be food and drinks, kids’ activities and a cornhole tournament hosted by Grimes County Cornhole.  Lawn chairs and coolers are encouraged.

The concert series wraps up on August 18th with music from ‘80s tribute group, The Lost Boys.

KTEX-106 is a sponsor of the Sounds of Summer.

The city’s Movies in the Park series also continues tonight at Brule Park with the showing of The Sandlot at 8:30 p.m.

Families are invited to bring their own snacks or meals, along with chairs and blankets.  Alcohol, smoking and vaping are not allowed.

The movie series concludes next Friday, July 28th with a date night showing of “Top Gun: Maverick”.
