THREE ARRESTED IN FAYETTE CO. BURGLARY, VANDALISM CASE

Three suspects are in Fayette County custody as part of an investigation into criminal activity last week in the Mullins Prairie community.

19-year-old Eagan Rivers of La Grange, 17-year-old Cody Parks of La Grange and 18-year-old Anthony Pate III of Dale are all charged with Burglary of a Building and Criminal Mischief between $2,500 and $30,000.  The charges stem from a burglary at the Mullins Prairie Store and vandalism that occurred at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies took reports on July 18th of the incidents at the two locations and forwarded them to investigators.  As they began working on each case, they received information on the identity of one of the suspects in the Mullins Prairie Store burglary.  During an interview, the subject admitted to taking part in both the burglary and the vandalism of the church.

According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, investigation led to two more suspects being identified and determined that the individuals had taken part in two more crimes in the Mullins Prairie area a few weeks prior.

Investigators obtained warrants for the arrest of the three subjects, who all turned themselves in this (Tuesday) morning.

  1. Parents of these young men I’m sure were shocked when their son was pointed out. Kids don’t go bad over night. Robbing a store and destroying a church. The only problem is they got caught. Let’s see what we read after their sentenced. Probation, a fine? No jail time, not just a few months either. Fayetteville is a wonderful little town . This is the beginning an the powers that be need to stop this now with serious penalties.
