TREY HOLLEWAY III NOT RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION AS WASHINGTON CO. PRECINCT 2 CONSTABLE
Washington County Precinct 2 Constable Trey Holleway III will not seek another term in office.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Holleway announced that he will not run for re-election in 2024. He first took office in January 2021 after running unopposed for the position formerly held by the late Carroll “Butch” Faske, who served in the role for 31 years.
Holleway shared with KWHI that he plans to spend time “exploring leadership concepts through video-based media aimed to assist first responders in developing leadership tools to best serve the public.”
Holleway said it has been “an honor and privilege to serve the residents of Precinct 2 in Washington County” and appreciates the opportunity to “meaningfully engage with the community and promote public safety to maintain our quality of life.”
Holleway has served in law enforcement in several capacities across the state, including highway patrol in Washington County from 1997-1999. Before retiring as captain in the Criminal Investigations Division of DPS in Houston, he organized and led task forces targeting criminal enterprises, child abductions, human trafficking, fugitive apprehension, and violent crime. He has also served on the Governor’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The first day to file for a place on the primary ballot is November 11th. The primary election is March 5, 2024.
