Throughout the month, the shelter has offered discounted adoptions. Leading up to Saturday, 13 cats and 13 dogs had been adopted.
Those numbers, combined with Saturday’s, amount to a total of 48 adoptions, including 25 cats and 23 dogs, through the month so far.
Brenham Animal Services Specialist Morgan Davee says she is very happy that dozens of animals have been able to find loving families.
For anyone who has brought home a new pet, Davee says exercising patience is key as it gets acclimated to its new household.
Next up for Brenham Animal Services will be this Friday’s Farmer and Artisan Market in downtown Brenham, where free microchipping will be provided. Davee says once the weather cools off, plans are to also offer adoptions at the first Friday markets.
The nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign is held in partnership with NBCUniversal Local and Telemundo-owned stations. Since 2015, it has led to over half a million pet adoptions.
please hold more of these instead of the alternative. These animals deserve to live. No healthy animal wants to die. If you are over capacity then just don’t take anymore.
