DPS INVESTIGATING FATAL CRASH IN BURLESON COUNTY

  

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred this (Tuesday) morning in Burleson County.

According to Sgt. Justin Ruiz, the preliminary investigation indicates that around 6:45am, a 2016 Honda was traveling eastbound on FM 60.  Meanwhile, A 2018 Freightliner 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on FM 50, when the driver failed to yield the right of way, and struck the Honda.

The driver of the Honda, 24-year-old Jessica Ramos of Bryan, was pronounced dead at the scene by Burleson County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Bill Orsak.

The driver of the Freightliner, 35-year-old Justin Davis of California, was transported to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan and treated for his injuries.

Sgt. Ruiz said that the investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no additional information is available for release at this time.
