KATIE SEEKER CROWNED 155TH WASHINGTON CO. FAIR QUEEN

  

The 155th Washington County Fair opened Saturday night with the crowning of a new queen.

Katie Seeker was named fair queen after selling 5,352 fair tickets for $214,074. That breaks 2022's record set by Ribbon Jones of 3,666 tickets for $146,655.

Seeker is representing Washington County 4-H, and her parents are Kenneth and Christin Seeker.

The fair queen runner-up was MaKayla Hueske, who sold 3,192 tickets. Hueske is representing the Brenham FFA, and her parents are Stewart and Jennifer Fleetwood.

The judges' choice winner was Della Jasinski, representing Brenham Athletics. Her parents are Brad and Amy Jasinski.

Between Seeker, Hueske, Jasinski and fellow queen candidate Seta Naylor, the four sold a combined 10,840 tickets for $433,614. The total breaks last year's fair record of $316,495 on 7,912 tickets sold.

Activities for the fair began with Saturday morning's parade through downtown Brenham, with more planned throughout the coming week at the Washington County Expo.  The Little and Junior Mister and Miss contests will be held on Wednesday.
