JESSICA DeBERRY NAMED AUSTIN CO. FAIR QUEEN
The 96th Annual Austin County Fair began on Saturday with the crowning of a new fair queen.
Jessica DeBerry received the honor of Fair Queen. DeBerry was also Miss Congeniality and Third Runner-up Ticket Queen.
First Runner-up for both Fair Queen and Ticket Queen was Sophie Martinez, while the Second Runner-up for Fair Queen was Rileigh Gilfoil.
The Third Runner-up for Fair Queen was Jaylen Tesch, who was also named Ticket Queen. Olivia Bolten was the Second Runner-up Ticket Queen.
Altogether, the queen candidates sold $103,295 in tickets.
Livestock judging has begun and will continue through this Thursday. The fair parade in downtown Bellville will start at 10 a.m. on Thursday, while the Youth Livestock Auction will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. The Youth Supreme and Country Fair Auction will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Musical entertainment this week includes Kin Faux at 8 p.m. and Coffey Anderson at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Wade Bowen at 8 p.m. and Pat Green at 10 p.m. on Friday, and Mike Ryan at 9 p.m. and Easton Corbin at 11 p.m. to close out the fair on Saturday.
Along with the music, the fair will be packed with activities like a carnival, a petting zoo, rodeo action and comedy shows.
