BLINN LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM DOMINATES IN LUBBOCK
The Blinn College Sophomore Livestock Judging Team won seven of the top ten individual spots at the Southern Stockman Contest.
The Southern Stockman Contest was held this past Saturday at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Cassie Jo Bennett was high individual overall with 854 points. Bennett also was high individual in hogs and placed second in sheep/goats, third in cattle, and third in reasons.
Samuel Belt was second high individual with 833 points. He also placed fifth in hogs and sixth in sheep/goats.
Dylan Hartman was third high individual with 832 points. He placed sixth in cattle and 10th in sheep/goats.
Other top finishers were Blane Warnken in fourth, Weston Hinze in fifth, Devin Gaff in eighth, and Cayden Alexander in tenth.
Blinn also had the top three finishers in the freshman division as well.
Lane Hogan was the high individual overall with 848 points. He was also high individual in hogs, third in reasons, third in sheep/goats, and ninth in cattle.
Meanwhile, Owen Seidenberger was second and Laney Harryman was third.
Livestock Judging Team Assistant Coach Adrian Austin said that the Southern Stockman Contest served as a great chance for both the sophomores and freshmen to get out and compete at a high level.
Blinn maintained its second-place spot in the Livestockjudging.com national rankings.
Their next competition will be at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky next Monday, November 13.
