WASHINGTON CO. VETERANS DAY PROGRAM SATURDAY

  

Washington County residents are invited tomorrow (Saturday) to attend the annual Veterans Day observance hosted by the Washington County Veterans Association (WCVA).

The program begins at 11 a.m. at the American Legion Hall at Fireman’s Park in Brenham.  KWHI will broadcast the program live beginning at 10:45 a.m. on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com

The featured speaker will be retired Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Hatley, who has over 26 years of service in the United States Army.  Hatley’s career included postings to duty stations both within the continental United States and overseas, and he has received several awards and decorations. 

Prior to the program, VFW Post 7104 will sponsor a Veterans Day breakfast at the post home.  Doors open at 6 a.m., and the breakfast will start at 7 a.m.  All veterans and their guests are invited.

Following the program, a barbecue chicken/pork sausage meal will be served at the American Legion Hall.  Advance tickets are no longer being sold, but a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
