BRENHAM BOWLING TEAM DEFEATS BURTON IN SEASON OPENER

Brenham Bowling Team (Michael Groves)

The Brenham Bowling team kicked off their 2023/2024 season with a win over the Burton Panthers over the weekend by a score of 13-2. 

High game for the Boys team was rolled by Mason Wolf with a 169 followed by Brett Campbell with a 168, Jaleon Breedlove with a 164 and Tyler Lindemann with a 164. 

In the first match of the day, Wolf and Campbell squeaked out a win over Grayson Brown of Burton 337-321 at Grayson rolled games of 154 and 167. 

In the team portion of the match, Brenham took two of the three Baker games with scores of 193 and 192, while Burton took the third game with a 115.  

For the girls, much heralded Brenham freshman Colleen Cole did not disappoint as she bowled games of 182 and 142 to lead all bowlers in her Varsity debut.

Colleen was taking on Burton junior Vivian Layman, who bowled well, rolling games of 123 and 110, but that was not enough to overcome Cole.  Expect these two to battle it out all year for District honors.   

Also for the girls, Makayla Hueske bowled a 117, her high game of the year, Annalee Sawyer and Juliette Murphy both bowled two games over 100.   Rounding out the Cubette varsity are Laina Nugent, Reese Johnson, Sophi Dubowik, Carlyn McCoy, and Lindsey Hook

In Brenham Junior Varsity action Brayden Steele defeated Luke Hardy, Dane Weidemann defeated Chris Hood, and Cale Hall defeated Joe Dubowik.
