On Friday, the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office issued a notice of the dam washing out in the 6400 block of County Road 378, north of Caldwell.  The sheriff’s office said the road was completely uncrossable at the time, and that crews were working to find an alternate route until repairs could be completed.

On Saturday, the sheriff’s office said road and bridge and construction contractors were working throughout the day to complete the job, but had to stop due to the rain.

Residents on County Road 378 told KBTX there are about 25 homes on the opposite side of the washed out road, without a way in or out.  They are assisting those who are stranded by helping to get them medication and any other needed items.

The Milano Water Supply Corporation said the wash out caused a break in a water line, and as a result, customers on the east side of the wash out have no water pressure.  A boil water notice has been issued for those residents, requiring them to boil their water prior to consumption until the line is repaired.
