NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS AROUND THE AREA
With 2024 at the doorstep, many places are getting ready to ring in the new year with celebrations on Sunday.
The Brenham Firefighters Association will host a New Year’s Eve Dance at the Fireman’s Training Center, 1101 Highway 290 West. Doors open at 7 p.m., and music from Liberty Hill begins at 8 p.m. A midnight meal of sausage, black eyed peas and cabbage will be served, and light snacks will be provided. There will be a cash bar open, and set-ups can be purchased. Tickets are $25 individually and $40 for couples. They are available at the Brenham Fire Department, Dan’s Meat Market, Robert’s Service Station and K&M Grocery.
The Brenham Elks Lodge at 400 East Germania Street will have a dance with the Risky Liver Band beginning at 8 p.m. At midnight, there will be a champagne toast. A complimentary breakfast will be served along with black eyed peas and cabbage. Entry is $25 per person, $30 at the door. More details are available by calling the lodge at 979-836-2261.
Harmonie Hall in Shelby, located at 509 FM 389 West, will feature Southern Daze from 8 p.m. to midnight. Doors open at 7 p.m. Black eyed peas will be served at midnight. A cash bar with setups will be available. Snacks may be brought in, but no outside drinks are allowed. Tickets are $20 cash at the door.
The Stone Cellar and Round Top Dance Hall, 550 North Washington Street, will host a New Year’s Eve Bash starting at 7 p.m. The Black Cat Choir will perform, and a prime rib dinner will be served along with black eyed peas and other sides. Complimentary champagne will be given out at midnight. There will also be a New Year’s Baby Dress-Up Competition, with the winner receiving a $1,000 prize.
