KWHI SCHEDULES CANDIDATES FORUMS FOR CONTESTED PRIMARY RACES

  

KWHI has a pair of Candidates Forums planned for the contested races in the March primary elections.

The forums will take place on Monday, February 5th and Wednesday, February 7th at 5:30 p.m. at Brenham National Bank.

The first forum on February 5th will feature candidates for Washington County Sheriff, Precinct 1 and 3 Commissioner, and Precinct 3 Constable.

The next forum on February 7th will host candidates for Washington County District Attorney and State Representative District 12.

All candidates running for Washington County offices are on the Republican ballot.

Running for sheriff are David Blakey and Trey Holleway.

For Precinct 1 Commissioner, incumbent Don Koester faces Misti Hartstack Corn.

The race for Precinct 3 Commissioner will pit incumbent Kirk Hanath against Billy Ruemke.

Brad Kuecker is running against Damon Wegner for Precinct 3 Constable.

For Washington County District Attorney, Derek Estep will go up against Dave Bunger.

Texas House District 12 has three Republican candidates: Ben Bius, Trey Wharton and John Harvey Slocum.  The winner among the three will face Democrat Dee Howard Mullins in November.

The forums can be heard live on AM 1280, FM 101.7 and kwhi.com, as well as on the KWHI Facebook page and through the KWHI mobile app.
