BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER NAMING NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF LEADERSHIP & LEARNING

The Brenham School Board will look to name a new executive director of leadership and learning for Brenham ISD when it meets Monday.

The current vacancy is the result of the district’s restructuring of staff and absorption of positions.  Christine Johnson, who formerly served in that role, is now the executive director of administrative services.

Brenham ISD Communications Director Brooke Trahan explained that Johnson will oversee human resources, after Christie Olivarez retired from her role as the executive director of human resources.  Johnson will still be over special education, a role she was originally hired for in May 2021.  She also will take on some of the duties that belonged to acting superintendent Clay Gillentine while he was the assistant superintendent for administrative services.

The executive director of leadership and learning heads up curriculum and instruction, working with campuses and campus leaders on professional leadership communities, master schedules, testing, and anything that falls under the umbrella of curriculum.

Also at Monday’s meeting, the board will potentially approve the 2022-23 district financial audit conducted by Patillo Brown & Hill, LLP.  Later, it will consider a bid for lawncare services and hear a presentation regarding possible advertising revenue sources.

An executive session will be held for a board of trustees self-evaluation.

The board will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School.  The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
