MAIN STREET BRENHAM CELEBRATING 25 YEARS
Main Street Brenham is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Founded in 1999, the organization has dedicated itself to revitalizing and preserving Brenham’s historic downtown district.
Main Street Manager Leigh Linden says from projects like the restoration of Toubin Park, Alamo Alley and Belle’s Alley to numerous downtown business enhancements, the goal has always been to highlight Brenham’s past and ensure downtown remains an important part of the city’s future.
Through a cooperative effort with sponsors such as the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the Texas Historical Commission, Main Street Brenham has facilitated over $2.25 million in reinvestment activities. It strives to keep downtown Brenham the heart of the community through a four-point approach: organization, promotion, design, and economic restructuring.
The 25-year milestone will be marked by a year-long series of activities, including a celebratory dinner at The Barnhill Center that will honor significant contributors to the Main Street program and Brenham’s downtown.
The dinner, which will be held on Thursday, April 11th at a time to be determined, will be a ticketed event. Tickets will become available at a later date.
