THREE CALLS FRIDAY, ONE EARLY SATURDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to three calls on Friday and one early this (Saturday) morning.

Approaching 5:15 p.m. Friday, the department was dispatched to a fire alarm at a home in the 1000 block of Harvest Lane.  Firefighters arrived and found burnt popcorn in the microwave.  The alarm was reset, and the department cleared the call.

Around 7:45 p.m., units responded to another fire alarm, this one at Brenham High School, 525 A H Ehrig Drive.  They found that the smoke machine from the play at the high school had set the alarm off.  The department reset the alarm and returned to service.

Shortly after 11:15 p.m., BFD members were called to Barbee Street at East Alamo Street for a two-vehicle accident.  They checked both vehicles for fluid leaks and found none, then provided traffic control until the vehicles were removed from the roadway.

Just after 2 a.m. today, firefighters were sent out for a rescue at the Mill Creek Residence Hall on the Blinn College campus, 1192 Old Mill Creek Road.  There, they found a stalled elevator with four occupants.  The department helped everyone out of the elevator and advised building management to contact maintenance about the elevator not working properly.
