WASHINGTON CO. HOME DEEMED TOTAL LOSS AFTER FIRE
Several Washington County fire departments were called to assist during a fire Saturday night at a home just north of Brenham.
Just before 8 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department and Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3500 block of Old Masonic Road.
When units arrived, they found a single-story wood-frame house with heavy fire coming out the roof line. The homeowner was outside of the residence and said no one else was inside.
The Brenham Fire Department used a preconnected hose line to extinguish the fire, and the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department assisted with water shuttle and ground operations. The Berlin Volunteer Fire Department was called for water to the house fire, and the Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department was called to backfill the Brenham Fire Station.
The home was deemed a total loss, but there were no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
