FATAL CRASH IN BURLESON CO. KILLS ONE, INJURES FOUR
One person was killed and four others were hospitalized after a one-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Burleson County.
The accident happened around 6:15 a.m. on Highway 36 near County Road 315, northwest of Caldwell.
According to DPS, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 traveling southbound failed to maintain a single lane and left the roadway. The vehicle entered a ditch and overturned, ejecting all five occupants.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 18-year-old Jesse Wilhite from McDade, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four passengers, all from Lexington, were airlifted to area hospitals, with most of their injuries suspected to be serious. 19-year-old Lane Magnuson and a 17-year-old female were taken to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan. 18-year-old Trevor King was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, and 19-year-old Rayna Buck was flown to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple.
