BRENHAM AND BURTON POWERLIFTERS GOING TO THE STATE MEET
The Brenham Cubs and the Burton Panthers will each have two representatives at the Boys State Powerlifting Meet tomorrow (Saturday) in Abilene.
For Brenham, Michael Gonzalez advanced after winning the Regional Championship in the 165 lb. division after finishing with a combined lift of 1,570 pounds.
John Rigsby also advanced to state in the 181 lb. division with a combined lift of 1,365 pounds, which was good for 7th place.
For Burton, Mark Odom finished in first place at Regionals in the 132 lb. weight class with a combined lift of 1,000 pounds.
His teammate, Keagan Fenner is going as well after he finished first in the 242 lb. division. Fenner set Regional Records with a 625-pound deadlift, and combined lift of 1,520 pounds.
