PRAIRIE VIEW WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO EMBEZZLING OVER $200,000 FROM CREDIT UNION ACCOUNTS

A Prairie View woman has pleaded guilty to embezzlement after being accused of misappropriating over $200,000 from accounts at the federal credit union she was employed at.

A release on Tuesday from the U.S. Attorney’s Office says 57-year-old Gloria Hall worked as a manager at Prairie View Federal Credit Union.

According to the release, from 2017 to 2019, Hall “purposefully maintained an antiquated business practice” which did not allow customers to access their accounts online.  Hall admitted to accessing at least two elderly customer accounts and misappropriating $211,563 of their funds for personal gain.

The credit union did not survive the incident, as it would go on to merge in early 2022 with the Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union.

Hall faces up to 30 years in federal prison and a maximum fine of $1 million.  She was permitted to remain on bond pending sentencing, which is currently set for August 22nd

  1. This women is something else. She took money from my great uncle account. She was always rude to customers and has a major attitude. When my uncle questioned his account she made him feel like he was losing his mind. He did get all his money back and several others, thank God for FDIC . At first we didn’t believe him because she was from the community and we knew her family. Boy we were wrong. How could she prey on old people. She knew every last one of the people she stole from and she took advantage of them. She created fake bank statements, fake loans . Its unbelievable she got away with this for so long. I don’t feel sorry for her. I think she had help. . We have contacted the federal prosecutor and we plan to read a statement at sentencing . My uncle along with family will be in court on the 22nd.

  2. Gloria hall stole from senior citizens intentionally she should get 26 years and Repay stand out side with a sign

  3. Did the folks she stole money from get their money back? If not why is this person allowed to be free out on bond? Stealing from the elderly is as bad as taking candy from a baby and not allowing them to access their accounts! Lock her up!
