ASCHENBECK NAMED FINALIST FOR STOPPER OF THE YEAR
Texas A&M pitcher Evan Aschenbeck has been named as one of ten finalists for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award.
So far this season, the former Brenham Cub and Blinn Buccaneer, has 26 appearances, with a 6-1 record, a 1.64 ERA, and seven saves.
Aschenbeck has 65 strikeouts in 60 1/3 innings pitched, while holding opponents to a .190 batting average.
22 of his 26 appearances have been for multiple innings, and 18 of his outings were scoreless.
The Stopper of the Year winner will be announced on June 14.
