PHOTOS: DAMAGE FROM HURRICANE BERYL IN WASHINGTON CO.

  

Damage was felt throughout Washington County as Hurricane Beryl passed through the region on Monday.

Several inches of rain fell through the morning, accompanied by strong wind gusts regularly reaching 30 miles per hour that resulted in downed trees and tree limbs, along with hundreds of power outages.  

According to the National Weather Service, the unofficial maximum wind gusts were recorded at over 40 miles per hour around Brenham and over 50 miles per hour in the northeast portion of the county.

Inclement conditions began to clear out in the afternoon as the hurricane downgraded to a tropical storm and continued traveling northeast.
