EVAN ASCHENBECK DRAFTED BY THE CHICAGO CUBS
On Day Three of the Major League Baseball Draft, Texas A&M Pitcher Evan Aschenbeck was taken in the 13th round by Chicago Cubs earlier this (Tuesday) afternoon.
Aschenbeck, who is a former Brenham Cub and Blinn Buccaneer, had a big season for the Aggies. In 32 relief appearances, he finished with a 6-1 record, 10 saves, and a 1.78 ERA. In addition to that, Aschenbeck struck out 87 batters to just 12 walks in 75 2/3 innings pitched.
