ASCHENBECK DISCUSSES GETTING DRAFTED BY THE CHICAGO CUBS

As the saying goes, "Once a Cub, always a Cub." As reported yesterday (Tuesday), Texas A&M Pitcher Evan Aschenbeck was drafted in the 13th round by the Chicago Cubs.
In an interview with KWHI Sports this (Wednesday) afternoon, Aschenbeck said that it was a little nerve-racking having to wait until the third day of the draft, but he was excited hearing his named get the call.
Aschenbeck told KWHI that the chances of him signing with the Cubs are pretty good.
The Chicago Cubs are one of the legendary franchises in Major League Baseball with a history that dates back to 1876. One of the selling points for Aschenbeck, who is a lifelong baseball fan, was getting the opportunity to pitch at Wrigley Field.
The full interview with Aschenbeck can be heard in its entirety this Monday night on the Brenham Sportsline beginning at 5:35pm right here on KWHI. We talked about a number subjects including getting drafted, the Aggies run to Omaha, the recent coaching change, getting married, and he also has a special thank you to the fans that have supported him over the years.
