WASHINGTON CO. CHURCHES TO GREET STUDENTS ON FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Several area churches will greet Washington County students on campus as they return to class this week.
Member churches of the Washington County Ministerial Association (WCMA) will welcome back Brenham ISD students tomorrow (Tuesday) and Burton ISD students on Wednesday across each of the districts’ campuses.
Pastor Calvin Kossie, WCMA President and former principal at Alton Elementary School, said they hope to bring a smile to students’ faces and ease first-day anxiety by being there to give hugs, high fives and encouragement. Students will also receive pencils.
The event was formerly known as Donuts and Blessings, which occurred annually pre-COVID.
