My thoughts and prayers are with my hometown Brenham. Surely, this has shaken the town to much prayer and compassion for the family that lost this sweet innocent lil angel, Devah. I have been glued to the news and updates since I saw it on Houston news. I didn’t know that she lost her life, I wanted so bad for the update to say she was rescued. Community we need our official and political leaders to be the voice in this town. There should had been a late school release or a emergency early release. Safety is PRIORITY! I know Brenham is growing but its still thinking too small. Washington County deserves to have stricter policies in place for the people that live there. We all watch the weather and do our best to prepare but to allow a bus to drop students off in a common flood zone is neglecting vulnerable children. A 10-year old can’t tell the bus driver what to do but elect officials can. To this mother, Ms. Williams, I am truly truly sorry for your unexpected loss. God will give you peace in the process, of the changes that this situation will bring. God will push the awareness to Brenham and wake the right people up. Stay strong Washington County, I am praying for comfort and unity. I believe! this is emerging new changes for the future, God can use anything, Devah, did not loose her life in vain.
My heart breaks for the Brenham community as you’ve lost this beautiful child, Devah. I can only imagine the pain her family must be going through and I pray that God gives them peace.
Now is the time for all of us to talk to our children and grands about the power of rushing water. It takes such a small amount to cause a child to lose their footing. Let’s keep this horror from happening again!
Though I no longer live in the Brenham area, you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you come to grips with this terrible tragedy.
May God wrap His strong arms around you and give you comfort, peace and love for one another!
