BUSINESS 6 NORTHBOUND FLYOVER IN NAVASOTA NOW TENTATIVELY SET TO REOPEN THURSDAY

TxDOT has pushed back the anticipated reopening date for the Business State Highway 6 northbound flyover in Navasota.

Originally planned to open back up this past Friday, TxDOT says the flyover is now tentatively scheduled to reopen on Thursday, July 2nd, weather permitting.

Construction has been ongoing since June 10th at the flyover that connects Business 6 northbound traffic to northbound Highway 6.  Crews have been conducting bridge maintenance and removing and installing the bridge’s traffic rail as part of the project.

The Business 6 northbound flyover remains completely closed.  Traffic is being detoured to the FM 3090 interchange to access northbound Highway 6.

While southbound Highway 6 continues to have daily lane closures to allow crews space to work safely, northbound Highway 6 remains open with no lane closures.

The work is part of a $2.8 million bridge maintenance project contracted to Gibson & Associates, taking place at multiple locations throughout Grimes and Brazos counties.

TxDOT encourages drivers to continue to follow posted detour signs, allow for extra travel time, and use caution in the work zone.

Detour information shared by TxDOT and the City of Navasota regarding the closure of the Business 6 northbound flyover.
