BUSINESS 6 NORTHBOUND FLYOVER IN NAVASOTA TO CLOSE THROUGH LATE JUNE
Drivers in Navasota need to be mindful of a nearly two-week closure of the Business State Highway 6 northbound flyover.
TxDOT says work began this (Wednesday) morning on the flyover that connects Business 6 northbound traffic to northbound Highway 6.
During construction, the Business 6 northbound flyover will be completely closed. Traffic will be detoured to the FM 3090 interchange to access northbound Highway 6.
Southbound Highway 6 will have daily lane closures to allow crews space to work safely. Northbound Highway 6 will remain open with no lane closures at this time.
The contractor, Gibson & Associates, will be removing and reinstalling the bridge’s traffic rail as part of the project.
TxDOT expects the closure to last approximately 13 working days, with the flyover scheduled to reopen by Friday, June 26th at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
The work is part of a $2.8 million bridge maintenance project taking place at multiple locations throughout Grimes and Brazos counties.
TxDOT encourages drivers to follow posted detour signs, allow for extra travel time, and use caution in the work zone.
