BURTON PANTHERS WIN DEFENSIVE BATTLE OVER HEARNE 6-0
The Burton Panther Football Team won a defensive battle on the road against the Hearne Eagles last (Friday) night 6-0.
Burton's lone touchdown, which was also the only score of the game, came with 11:30 left in the fourth quarter. Sophomore QB K.D. Patterson found Drayton Oakes on a 76-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was missed.
Patterson carried the ball 20 times for 69 yards. He also was 5 of 8 passing for 118 yards and a touchdown.
The Panther defense held Hearne to just 134 yards of total offense, including 1 for 8 third downs.
Next up, Burton will be taking on Schulenburg. Originally, the game was supposed to be in Burton, but due to the construction project it has been moved to Schulenburg.
