SCHULENBURG DEFEATS BURTON 28-7
The Burton Panther Football Team suffered their second loss of the season on Friday night as they fell to Schulenburg 28-7.
Schulenburg scored the first touchdown to take an early 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
The Panthers would tie the game on a three yard touchdown run from Drayton Oakes. D'Mitry Schulte added the extra point to make it 7-7.
After that it was all Schulenburg as they would score a touchdown in each of the remaining quarters to get the 28-7 victory.
Burton QB K.D. Patterson was 8 of 14 passing for 99 yards, and also had 15 carries for 68 yards. Maleek Bibby finished with 11 carries for 55 yards. Colton Broesche had three catches for 53 yards.
The Panthers are off this week for the Washington County Fair. They are scheduled to open district play on Friday, September 27, against McDade. McDade just moved up to 2A-Division II after playing six-man football. The location has not yet been determined.
