FIVE PEOPLE ARRESTED SUNDAY FOR CHARGES INCLUDING ASSAULT

  

Five people were arrested Sunday, for charges including assault.

Brenham Police report that early Sunday morning at 12:50, Officer Garrett Downs was dispatched to the 2800 block of Highway 36 South for a report of a two-vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that the driver, Cristo Angel Cuevas Castillo, 22 of Brenham, showed signs of intoxication and failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Castillo was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container. Castillo was transported to the Washington County Jail for booking.

Then early Sunday morning at 4:15, Officer Brayten Rolling initiated a Motorist Assist at the 3000 Block of Highway 36 South. While making contact with the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, and marijuana was located within the vehicle. The driver Anthony Cook Jr., 24 of Crowley, was placed in custody and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.

Then Sunday morning at 5:00, Officer Grayson Marburger responded to the 2000 block of FM 389 in reference to an assault. Upon further investigation, the male party involved, Henry Cruz, 33 of Brenham, was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail, where he was booked in for Assault Causes Bodily Injury to a Family Member.

Then Sunday night at 8:50, Officer Garrett Downs conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Baylor Street. Investigation revealed that both the driver and the front seat passenger, identified as Randall Guerra, 55 of Bryan, and Labyron Dever, 37 of Brenham, were both placed in custody. Guerra was driving while suspended, and Dever showed an active warrant. Both subjects were transported to Washington County Jail and booked under their charges.
