Faith Mission, which is the Salvation Army’s service unit in Washington County and serves as the volunteer disaster agency for the county and the City of Brenham, has opened accounts at Brenham National Bank, Bank of Brenham and Citizens State Bank.  The accounts are open to anyone who wishes to contribute to relief efforts that are ongoing in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.

Faith Mission Executive Director Reverend Randy Wells said he has been in consistent contact with Alvin Migues, the Emergency Disaster Services Director for the Texas Division of Salvation Army, who has been on the grounds since the storms.  Rev. Wells said the Washington County community is caring and compassionate, as several phone calls have come in from local residents wanting to help.

Faith Mission CEO JD Young said the organization provides services and financial assistance under the oversight of a local board of directors and “works hard to guarantee the responsible use of the resources you provide.”

Brazos County Salvation Army Captain Luis Villanueva said the best way to support survivors is by making a financial contribution, which allows the Salvation Army to meet immediate and long-term needs.  He said during emergency disasters, 100 percent of designated gifts are used to support relief efforts.

Money donated into the Neighbors Helping Neighbors accounts stays separate from other Faith Mission funds.

More information is available by calling the Faith Mission office at 979-830-1488.
