BRENHAM FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO FIVE CALLS ON FRIDAY

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded three transportation incidents and two alarm calls on Friday.

The first call came in just before 9:15am at the 300 Block of Highway 290 West. Firefighters responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident. BFD members checked for injuries and fluids, but found none. They returned to service after the roadway was cleared.

The second call came shortly after 12 noon on the 1800 Block of Highway 290 East for a transportation incident with entrapment. BFD units arrive on the scene to find a two-vehicle accident with a truck upside down. No one was trapped, so firefighters helped the Washington EMS with patient care. BFD members cleaned the roadway off and returned to service.

The Brenham Fire Department was then dispatched to the 900 Block of West Fifth Street for an alarm sounding just after 2pm. BFD units arrived on location to find nothing showing from the exterior of the building. BFD members found no smoke or fire, so they reset the alarm panel.

Firefighters then went to the 2800 Block of Highway 36 South for an alarm sounding at 6:30pm. BFD units found nothing showing from the exterior. BFD members found the power was flicking on and off. They called Bluebonnet Electric to repair the power.

The final call came in just before 9:30pm at the 400 Block of Highway 290 West. BFD units found a two-vehicle accident with fluids leaking, but no injuries. After cleaning up the fluids, firefighters returned to service.
